I recently had the opportunity to take a darkroom class which was just fantastic. It’s been years since I’ve been in a darkroom and I’ve always wanted to have my own darkroom at home so I took the class to make sure I remember how everything works and to get an idea of what equipment and supplies I might need. These shots were taken on a roll of Ilford FP4+ and was the first roll of film I’ve shot in about 15 years. I’m using a 25 year old Leica R8 and all of these shots were taken with an Elmarit 1:2.8/24mm lens on two consecutive days.
These are some pictures I converted to digital by photographing the negatives and then cleaning up the resulting images in Adobe Lightroom. The pictures are from Boston and I took them with my first camera (a Nikon FG) which I bought when I was in high school. I processed the film myself in our high school darkroom.
The Pacific Northwest is not for everyone in the winter months but if you don’t mind it being on the chilly side, like rough oceans, storms, fog, and even occasional sunny periods, its a great time to visit. It’s pretty quiet, beautiful wide open beaches, and all of the weather.
Spent two weeks in three different locations in Newfoundland. Beautiful scenery and the nicest people.
Flew to Salt Lake City and drove down to Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef and Kodachrome State Park. It was a gret time to visit as it was not to busy. There was still a lot of snow in Bryce Canyon though which make hiking a bit treacherous.
Shots from a recent hiking trip in Sedona Arizona. The hiking here is amazing and we were able to get on the trails by hiking out the backdoor of the place were were staying at. We also did a side trip over to Jerome, AZ which is an old mining town built on a mountain side.
